The Gospel bears fruit among mountainous ethnic minorities in Northern Vietnam

Nearly 500 members of ethnic minority groups have joined the Church through baptism in a remote missionary territory within the Diocese of Bac Ninh. These converts include people from the H’Mông, Tày, Red Dao, and Sán Chí groups. More than 200 of these individuals were baptized during the 2025–2026 period.

The Catholic community in this area was officially elevated to a parish on October 4, 2025. Father Peter Nguyen Quang Doan, a member of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, serves as the first pastor. The parish is located approximately 270 kilometers north of the Bac Ninh Bishop's House in a mountainous region covering about 473.64 square kilometers.

According to Agenzia Fides, the growth in the community followed efforts by priests to build relationships by visiting local markets and traveling to scattered villages to meet with families. The priest's approach involved listening to residents and understanding local culture to share the faith.
