Newman Catholic Student Center Parish serves students, faculty, and staff of UNC Chapel Hill, alumni, families, friends, and visitors in Chapel Hill. Established as a mission in 1940, it became an independent parish in 1971 under the title Mary, Mother of the Church. The parish offers Masses on Saturday and Sunday, daily noon Mass, reconciliation services during the academic year, and Holy Hour on Fridays. Newman fosters Christian discipleship through liturgy, community, and service, grounded by vibrant worship and a commitment to spiritual growth, community, stewardship, and service.
