Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church is located in Newton Grove, North Carolina. Founded by Dr. John Carr Monk in 1871, the church was originally named St. Mark’s and later renamed Our Lady of Guadalupe in 1954 by Bishop Vincent Waters. The first resident pastor arrived in 1899, followed by various religious orders until diocesan priests took over in 1953. The parish has a rich history, including the establishment of two parochial schools and multiple mission chapels that have since become separate parishes. The current rectory was built in the early 1930s, and several buildings on the property have been renovated or dedicated over the years.
