Saint Catherine of Siena
Wake Forest, NC
Saint Catherine of Siena Parish is located in Wake Forest, North Carolina. The parish has its roots in the early 20th century when Catholics first settled in the area. In 1934, Father John A. Beshel began celebrating Mass in the Bolus home every Sunday and taught catechism to children afterward. As the Catholic community grew, a mobile chapel was used from 1938 to 1940 before a permanent church was built. The current church at 701 South Main Street was constructed in 1940 with funds donated by Katherine E. Price of Greenwich, Connecticut.
