St. Joseph

St. Joseph Catholic Church is located in Zephyrhills, Florida. The first Mass was celebrated at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Brazie in 1912. Fr. Jerome Wisniewski, OSB, initiated the mission for a small group of Catholics. In 1942, with donations from parishioners and the city, a new church was built on Fifth Avenue. Tragedy struck in 1959 when a fire destroyed the building, but parishioners continued their faith through temporary venues until a new church was constructed in 1960 under Fr. Cassian Foley, OSB. Today, St. Joseph serves over 6,000 registered parishioners across two and a half blocks of property.
