Our Lady of Loretto Parish

Novato, CA

Our Lady of Loretto Parish has served the Novato community for over 130 years. Founded in 1889 as a mission of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Petaluma, it was not until 1937 that the current church on Grant Avenue was built and dedicated by Archbishop Mitty. The parish grew significantly during the post-war period, necessitating the construction of a new church in 1963 to accommodate its expanding congregation. Over the years, Our Lady of Loretello has continued to grow and serve the community, particularly through outreach efforts for the Hispanic community. Despite challenges, including the loss of staff members and facing the recent illness of its pastor, the parish remains a strong community of faith, focusing on prayer, gospel living, and service.
