The Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Assumption, also known locally as Saint Mary's Cathedral, is the principal church of the Archdiocese of San Francisco in San Francisco, California in the United States. It is the mother church of the Catholic faithful in the California counties of Marin, San Francisco and San Mateo and is the metropolitan cathedral for the Ecclesiastical province of San Francisco.

Saint Mary’s Cathedral, located in San Francisco, California, is the third cathedral to serve the Archdiocese of San Francisco. The current structure was completed in 1970 and formally blessed on May 5, 1971. Designed by a team including well-known architects Pietro Belluschi and Pier-Luigi Nervi, the modern cathedral reflects San Francisco's status as an international urban center. Over one hundred priests and half-a-dozen bishops have been ordained at this significant site.
