Saint Leo the Great Parish

Saint Leo the Great Parish is a territorial parish of the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Jose, California. The original church was built in 1915 and named for Pope Leo I. Mass at St. Leo's Chapel began on August 8, 1915, with Father Culligan. In 1953, Father Manning celebrated the first mass in the current building, which he helped construct. The parish is affiliated with Saint Leo the Great School and celebrated its centennial year alongside the school in 2015. Located in the St. Leo section of the Shasta-Hanchett neighborhood in San Jose, California, the church continues to serve its community.
