Christ the King Church
LA
Christ the King Catholic Church is located in Bossier City, Louisiana. Founded in the 1930s due to a surge in population, it became its own parish after separating from Holy Trinity in downtown Shreveport. The church held its first service, the Midnight Christmas Mass, in 1940 under Rev. Milburn Broussard. Over the years, Christ the King has undergone several renovations and expansions, including the installation of air conditioning and a significant reconstruction in 1978. The parish also established a school that operated from 1954 to 1998 and witnessed an increase in its Hispanic community beginning in 2003. Celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2015, Christ the King continues to serve its diverse community with various ministries and events.
