Our Lady of Fatima Church

Our Lady of Fatima Church in Monroe, Louisiana, was established on November 29, 1952, by Bishop Charles P. Greco. Initially consisting of about two hundred families and located near Northeast Louisiana State College, the parish grew significantly over the years. The first school building with six classrooms and a gymnasium opened in September 1953, followed by the addition of fifth through eighth grades in 1963. The current church was completed in 1959, and a rectory was built in 1972. Our Lady of Fatima Parish celebrates its 70th anniversary and is dedicated to the memory of Msgr. George W. Martinez.
