Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish serves the Osprey and Nokomis areas in Sarasota County, Florida. Founded on October 1, 2000, as a mission of Epiphany Cathedral, it became an independent parish on March 1, 2002. Initially meeting in a storefront and later at Pine View School Auditorium, the parish acquired its current property for a permanent facility, with groundbreaking on February 22, 2004. The first Mass was celebrated there in October 2005, and the dedication occurred on January 15, 2006. Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish is served by the Carmelite Order, honoring Mary as both mother and sister, reflecting their tradition of prayer, community, and service.
