St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish

St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish is located in Port Charlotte, Florida. Established in November 1986 as a chapel of ease from St. Charles Borromeo Church, it was elevated to parish status on November 18, 1988. The first Masses were held at the Port Charlotte High School auditorium before moving to its current location on Spear Street. The parish was officially dedicated by Bishop John Nevins on October 31, 1992. Since then, St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish has grown significantly, with over 1,150 households registered as of December 2003. The parish continues to expand through various initiatives and developments, including the construction of a new Parish Center in 2001.
