St. Elizabeth of Hungary

St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church serves the Denton community in Maryland as part of St. Benedict/St. Elizabeth Catholic Community. Located in Denton, MD, this parish is one of several mass stations established by Jesuit missionaries in the early colonial period. The land for the church was deeded in 1824 and the first recorded baptism took place on March 1, 1831. St. Elizabeth's came under the jurisdiction of the Diocese of Wilmington in 1868. Regular weekend masses are held at the church, providing spiritual sustenance to its congregation.
