St. Peter the Apostle Parish in New Castle, Delaware, is part of a larger parish that includes Holy Spirit. The history of Catholic presence in the area dates back to the arrival of the first Catholics in Maryland in 1634. Mass was celebrated for the first time in New Castle in 1804, and by 1876, St. Peter Church had been dedicated. Over the years, the parish has undergone several renovations and expansions, including the addition of an organ, a belfry, and various school buildings. The current pastor is Father Timothy Nolan, who also serves as the pastor of Holy Spirit Parish.
