Resistencia is in fact a Latin rite metropolitan archdiocese (not a diocese) covering part of Chaco province, Argentina, erected as a diocese in 1939 and elevated to an archdiocese in 1984. Its suffragans are the dioceses of Formosa and San Roque de Presidencia Roque Sáenz Peña, and Ramón Alfredo Dus has been archbishop since 2013.
