History

Since 1986 the historic diocese of Arezzo has been joined with the dioceses of Cortona and Sansepolcro, producing the present Latin diocese of Arezzo-Cortona-Sansepolcro (Latin: Dioecesis Arretina-Cortonensis-Biturgensis seu Burgi Sancti Sepulchri). The enlarged see is a suffragan of the archdiocese of Florence.
