The Diocese of Banja Luka is a Latin Church diocese in western Bosnia and Herzegovina, erected on July 5, 1881. It is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Vrhbosna (Sarajevo), with its see at the Cathedral of Saint Bonaventure, led by Bishop Željko Majić since 2024.

History

Western Bosnia is served by the Diocese of Banja Luka (Latin: Dioecesis Banialucensis; Croatian: Banjolučka biskupija), centred on the city of Banja Luka in Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Erected on July 5, 1881 as the Diocese of Banjaluka, it is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Vrhbosna; the name was changed to Banja Luka in 1985. Željko Majić became its bishop in 2024.
