  • Bishops of Paraná hold 2nd annual assembly

    Bishops from the 18 archdioceses and dioceses of the CNBB South 2 region are meeting in Guarapuava for their 2nd annual assembly. The gathering began the afternoon of September 23 and will continue through midday on September 25 at the Casa de Líderes Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe. Participants include Father Edson Zamiro da Silva, president of the Regional Commission of Priests, and Father Marcos Paulo Honório da Silva, executive secretary of CNBB South 2. The assembly agenda includes discussions on the Saint Paul VI Mission in Guinea-Bissau and preparations for the American Missionary Congress to be held in Curitiba in November 2029. The bishops will also reflect on new documents. This meeting precedes the 45th Assembly of the People of God, which begins the afternoon of September 25 and runs through September 27.
