The Diocese of Piracicaba in Sao Paulo state was erected on February 26, 1944, by Pope Pius XII. A suffragan of the Archdiocese of Campinas, it has been led by its sixth bishop, Devair Araujo da Fonseca, since January 2021.

Part of the ecclesiastical province of Campinas in Brazil, this diocese (Latin: Dioecesis Piracicabensis) is seated in the city of Piracicaba.
