History

Southern Saskatchewan, reaching north to about the 30th township (roughly 51°30' latitude), falls under the Archdiocese of Regina (Latin: Archidioecesis Reginatensis), whose seat is the city of Regina. Established as a diocese on March 4, 1910, with Olivier Elzéar Mathieu as its first bishop, it now heads a metropolitan province that takes in the suffragan dioceses of Prince Albert and Saskatoon.
