Latin rite metropolitan archdiocese in Quebec, erected as a diocese in 1874 and elevated to an archdiocese in 1951. It is the metropolitan see of an ecclesiastical province that includes the suffragan dioceses of Nicolet and Saint-Hyacinthe, and is led by Archbishop Guy Boulanger, appointed in 2026.

History
Part of the civil province of Quebec belongs to the Archdiocese of Sherbrooke (Latin: Archidioecesis Sherbrookensis), whose ecclesiastical province includes the suffragan sees of Nicolet and Saint-Hyacinthe. Statistics from 2004 give the archdiocese 107 parishes and 291,000 Catholics, served by 195 active diocesan priests and 107 religious priests, together with 1,012 women religious, 197 religious brothers, and 18 permanent deacons.
