Latin-rite metropolitan archdiocese in Shaanxi province, China, erected in 1911 as the Apostolic Vicariate of Central Shensi and elevated to metropolitan archdiocese in 1946. Its seat is St. Francis Cathedral in Xi'an, with suffragan sees including Fengxiang, Hanzhong, Sanyuan, Yan'an and Zhouzhi. Archbishop Anthony Dang Mingyan has led the see since 2006.
