History
A suffragan of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising, the Diocese of Passau (Latin: Diœcesis Passaviensis; German: Bistum Passau) is a Latin see of the Catholic Church in Germany covering 5,442 km². For centuries the Prince-Bishopric of Passau existed as an ecclesiastical principality, until its secularization in 1803.
