History
In northern Ecuador, the Latin Church maintains the Diocese of Santo Domingo in Ecuador (Latin: Dioecesis Sancti Dominici in Aequatoria), a suffragan see within the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Portoviejo. Its cathedral, the Catedral La Ascensión del Señor, dedicated to the Ascension, stands in the episcopal see of Santo Domingo de Los Colorados in Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas Province, where a future cathedral, the Catedral El Buen Pastor, dedicated to the Good Shepherd, is also under construction.
What is kept by invitation
The record above is published because it is public: what this see is, when it was erected, who holds its chair, and where it stands among its neighbours.
The working record is not. The chancery's address, telephone and email, the clergy of the see, and the hours of Mass, confession and adoration in the parishes within it are kept for members, and a person reads every request.
