Latin-rite metropolitan archdiocese seated in Portoviejo, Manabi Province, Ecuador. Erected as a diocese on 23 March 1870 and elevated to archdiocese on 25 February 1994, with the Diocese of Santo Domingo en Ecuador as suffragan. Its cathedral is the Cathedral of Jesus del Buen Pastor; Archbishop Eduardo Jose Castillo Pino has led it since October 2019.
