The Diocese of Ambato is a Latin Church diocese in the central highlands of Ecuador, created on February 28, 1948, and suffragan to the Archdiocese of Quito. It has been led by Bishop Jorge Giovanny Pazmino Abril since 2015.

History
Created in 1948, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Ambato (Latin: Dioecesis Ambatensis) has its seat in the city of Ambato and belongs to the ecclesiastical province of Quito in Ecuador. By 2015 it counted 499,000 local Catholics in its care, served by 98 priests, 3 deacons, and 217 religious.
