History
Located in the Canary Islands within the ecclesiastical province of Seville in Spain, the Diocese of Canarias, also called the Diocese Canariense-Rubicense (Latin: Dioecesis Canariensis), is a Latin diocese of the Catholic Church. Its territory covers the islands of Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, and Lanzarote (Oriental Province), but not the whole archipelago: the Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife belongs to the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Cristóbal de La Laguna (also known as Tenerife or Nivariense).
