The Archdiocese of Bordeaux (Bordeaux-Bazas) is a Latin rite metropolitan archdiocese covering the Gironde department in southwestern France, with origins in the 3rd century. Its province includes the dioceses of Agen, Aire et Dax, Bayonne and Perigueux. Its seat is the Cathedral of St. Andrew in Bordeaux.

History
Bordeaux Cathedral, in Aquitaine, holds the episcopal seat of the Archdiocese of Bordeaux (-Bazas) (Latin: Archidioecesis Burdigalensis (-Bazensis); French: Archidiocèse de Bordeaux (-Bazas); Occitan: Archidiocèsi de Bordèu (-Vasats)), an archdiocese of the Latin Church in France.

Pope Leo XIV to visit France
Pope Leo XIV arrived in France on September 25 to begin a four-day apostolic journey through Paris, Lourdes, and Metz. This visit marks the pope's fifth international trip. During his first day in Paris, the pope scheduled meetings with government authorities, civil society representatives, and the diplomatic corps at the Élysée Palace. His itinerary for the day also includes a visit to UNESCO and a prayer vigil with young French people at the Stade de France. The French state is covering costs related to republican security and heads of state, while the Church in France is managing the organization of pastoral events through donations from the faithful. The pope's visit concludes on September 28.
