History

Territory carved in 1966 from portions of the Archdiocese of Paris and the Diocese of Versailles became the Diocese of Créteil (Latin: Dioecesis Christoliensis; French: Diocèse de Créteil), a Latin Church see of the Catholic Church in France. Paris remains its metropolitan: Créteil continues as a suffragan within the ecclesiastical province of the Archdiocese of Paris.
