The Diocese of Digne (Digne, Riez and Sisteron) is a Latin rite diocese covering the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department in southeastern France, with origins in the 4th century; it took its united form on 15 February 1916. It is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Marseille. Its seat is the Cathedral of St. Jerome in Digne-les-Bains.

History

Erected in the 4th century as the Diocese of Digne, this Latin Church diocese of the Catholic Church in France (Latin: Dioecesis Diniensis; French: Diocèse de Digne) has carried the name Diocese of Digne-Riez-Sisteron since 1922. Its territory covers the whole department of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, in the Region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur.
