History
In the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of Southern France, the Diocese of Gap and Embrun (Latin: Dioecesis Vapincensis et Ebrodunensis; French: Diocèse de Gap et d'Embrun) is a Latin Church diocese of the Catholic Church. Gap Cathedral, in the city of Gap, is the episcopal see, with the Co-cathédrale of Notre Dame in Embrun serving as co-cathedral; the diocese also counts a minor basilica, the Basilique Notre-Dame du Laus in Saint-Étienne-le-Laus. It is a suffragan diocese within the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Marseille, and Xavier Malle is the current bishop.
What is kept by invitation
The record above is published because it is public: what this see is, when it was erected, who holds its chair, and where it stands among its neighbours.
The working record is not. The chancery's address, telephone and email, the clergy of the see, and the hours of Mass, confession and adoration in the parishes within it are kept for members, and a person reads every request.
