History

The department of Eure, within the Region of Normandy, forms the territory of the Diocese of Évreux (Latin: Dioecesis Ebroicensis; French: Diocèse d'Evreux), a Latin Church diocese of the Catholic Church. It belongs to the ecclesiastical province of Rouen as a suffragan of that archdiocese. In 2011 the diocese counted one priest for every 6,056 Catholics.
