History
Erected in 1295 as a historical diocese of the county of Foix, the Diocese of Pamiers, Couserans, and Mirepoix (Latin: Dioecesis Apamiensis, Couseranensis, et Mirapicensis; French: Diocèse de Pamiers, Mirepoix, et Couserans) is a Latin Church diocese of the Catholic Church in southern France. Suppressed in 1801 and restored in 1822, it now takes in the department of Ariège and answers to the Archdiocese of Toulouse as its metropolitan.

Pope Leo XIV to visit France
Pope Leo XIV will visit France for a four day trip that includes a stop in Paris. Aleteia reports that approximately one million people are expected to attend the events in Paris on Friday and Saturday. Authorities plan to deploy an extensive security presence throughout the duration of the visit.
