The Archdiocese of Sens (Sens-Auxerre) is a Latin rite archdiocese covering the Yonne department in Burgundy, one of the oldest sees of Gaul, erected in the 1st century; though retaining archiepiscopal rank, since 2002 it is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Dijon. Its cathedral is the Cathedral of St. Stephen in Sens, with the archbishop also bearing the title of Prelate of the Mission de France.

History
The department of Yonne, in the region of Burgundy, forms the Archdiocese of Sens and Auxerre (Latin: Archidioecesis Senonensis et Antissiodorensis; French: Archidiocèse de Sens et Auxerre), a Latin archdiocese of the Catholic Church in France. Late local legends place its founding in sub-apostolic times; as metropolis of the province of Quarta Lugdunensis, the diocese attained ecclesiastical metropolitical status in the 7th century.
