The Diocese of Ardagh and Clonmacnois is a Latin Catholic see covering most of Counties Longford and Leitrim plus parts of several neighbouring counties in Ireland, with the combined diocese dating to the 1756 union of the ancient sees of Ardagh and Clonmacnoise. It is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Armagh and has been led by Bishop Paul Connell since 2023.

History
Among Ireland's Latin Church dioceses is that of Ardagh and Clonmacnoise. Its Latin title is Dioecesis Ardachadensis et Cluanensis, and Irish speakers know it as Deoise Ardach agus Chluain Mhic Nóis.

New Documentary Celebrates 100 Years of the Irish College in Rome
A new documentary film marks the centenary of the Irish College in Rome by featuring interviews with Fr Aidan Ryan. Members of the Alumni Association gathered in Rome this week for the launch of the film, which explores the history of the college on the Caelian Hill. Produced and edited by Roxana McCormack, the documentary covers the history of the college from the 1926 construction of its current building. Fr Ryan shares his personal experiences as a student during the Second Vatican Council. Cardinal Seán Brady attended the launch event alongside Fr Ryan and McCormack.

Bishop Paul Connell attends Irish Catholic Spaces conference
Bishop Paul Connell attended the Irish Catholic Spaces: Pasts and Futures conference hosted by the Catholic Historical Society of Ireland at DCU. The event examined Ireland's Catholic heritage, including 800 years of Franciscan sites, and discussed methods for preserving sacred spaces for future generations. During the conference, organizers launched PARISH, a new database project designed to record and preserve Ireland's sacred heritage.
