History
Created on December 12, 2005, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Buxar (Latin: Dioecesis Buxarensis) in India is suffragan to the Archdiocese of Patna. The parish church "Mary Mother of Perpetual Help" in Buxar serves as the diocesan cathedral. Its 11,311 km² of the Patna state take in the districts of Buxar, Bhojpur, Bhabua, and Rohtas, territory formerly administrated by the Archdiocese of Patna.
