History
Split from the Diocese of Tezpur on 7 December 2005, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Itanagar (Dioecesis Itanagarensis) in India is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Guwahati. John Thomas Kattrukudiyil served as its first bishop, and the St. Joseph's church in Itanagar is the cathedral of the diocese.
