The Archdiocese of Shillong is the Latin Catholic metropolitan see for Meghalaya, India. Originating as the Apostolic Prefecture of Assam in 1889 and raised to an archdiocese in 1969, it oversees suffragan dioceses including Tura, Agartala, Aizawl, Jowai, and Nongstoin.

History
In northeastern India, the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Shillong (Latin: Shillongensis) exercises jurisdiction over two districts of the State of Meghalaya, Ri Bhoi and East Khasi Hills. It stands at the head of the Province of Shillong, an ecclesiastical province in Northeast India. Across the two districts it serves 346,060 followers in 49 parishes organized under 8 zones.
