Syro-Malabar (East Syriac rite) eparchy based in Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, India, within the province of Ujjain. Established as an exarchate on 23 March 1972 and raised to an eparchy by Pope Paul VI on 26 February 1977. Its seat is the Cathedral of St Joseph in Jagdalpur.

History

Under the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church, the Eparchy of Jagdalpur is an Eastern Catholic eparchy in India. It came into being in 1977, when Pope Paul VI raised it to a diocese by the Bull "Nobismetipsis" of 26 February; Mar Simon Stock Palathara CMI was ordained and installed as the second Bishop of Jagdalpur. On 2013 July 16, Pope Francis accepted the resignation of Mar Simon Stock Palathara, CMI and named Mar Joseph Kollamparambil CMI the new bishop.
