Tehran is a metropolitan archeparchy of the Chaldean Catholic Church (Eastern rite, not Latin), originally established in 1853 as the Archeparchy of Sehna and renamed Tehran in 1971. Archbishop Imad Khoshaba Gargees has been the metropolitan archeparch since 2023.
