The Chaldean Catholic Metropolitan Archeparchy of Tehran (East Syriac rite) was established in 1853 at Sanandaj (Sehna), relocated to Tehran in 1944, and renamed Archeparchy of Tehran on 16 March 1971. Its cathedral is St. Joseph's Chaldean Cathedral in Tehran; the see is a metropolitan archeparchy without suffragans. Archbishop Imad Khoshaba Gargees was appointed on 10 November 2023, succeeding Ramzi Garmou.

History
St. Joseph's Cathedral in Tehran, the Iranian capital, is the archiepiscopal see of the Chaldean Catholic Metropolitan Archeparchy of Tehran (Latin: Archidioecesis Teheranensis Chaldaeorum), an Eastern archdiocese of the Chaldean Catholic church of the Syro-Oriental Rite. Though it holds metropolitan rank, it has no suffragan.
