The Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem is an exempt Latin rite diocese directly subject to the Holy See, covering Israel, Palestine, Jordan and Cyprus. First established in 1099 and re-established with a resident patriarch in 1847, it has been led since 2020 by Latin Patriarch Pierbattista Cardinal Pizzaballa.
