Latin-rite metropolitan archdiocese in Shan State, Myanmar, erected as a diocese on 21 March 1961 and elevated to a metropolitan archdiocese on 17 January 1998. Its seat is St. Joseph's Cathedral in Taunggyi, and its suffragans are Kengtung, Loikaw, Pekhon and Taungngu.

History
Located in the Shan State of Myanmar, the Archdiocese of Taunggyi (Latin: Archidioecesis Taunggyiensis) is a Latin Catholic archdiocese whose suffragans are the dioceses of Kengtung, Loikaw, Pekhon and Taungngu. Its cathedral is St. Joseph's Cathedral in Taunggyi. The see began as the diocese of Taunggyi, created on March 21, 1961 by splitting from the diocese of Taungoo, at which time it was a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Yangon.
