Latin rite metropolitan archdiocese in the state of Veracruz, Mexico, erected as a diocese on 19 March 1863 and elevated to an archdiocese on 29 June 1951. Its seat is the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Xalapa. It heads the ecclesiastical province of Xalapa.

History
With its episcopal see at Xalapa, Veracruz, the Archdiocese of Xalapa (Latin: Archidioecesis Ialapensis) is a metropolitan see of the Latin Church in Mexico. Its ecclesiastical province gathers seven suffragan dioceses: Coatzacoalcos, Córdoba, Orizaba, Papantla, San Andrés Tuxtla, Tuxpan and Veracruz.
