History

In the extreme southeast corner of Sicily, between the Free Municipal Consortium of Syracuse and the Free Municipal Consortium of Ragusa, lies the Diocese of Noto, a Latin Church diocese of the Catholic Church in Italy and a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Siracusa. The bishop's seat is the Cattedrale di San Nicolò in Noto, and since 2022 the diocese has been led by Monsignor Salvatore Rumeo.
