History
A suffragan of the Archdiocese of Chihuahua in Mexico, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Nuevo Casas Grandes (Latin: Dioecesis Neograndicasensis) began as a territorial prelature in 1977 and was elevated in 2000. Its territory covers an area of 36,320 and holds a population of 149,000, of whom 130,000 are Catholic, served by 37 priests and 45 religious.
