History
Northern New Jersey is home to the Diocese of Paterson (Latin: Dioecesis Patersonensis), a Catholic diocese in the United States suffragan to the Archdiocese of Newark. Saint Patrick and John the Baptist are its patrons, and Kevin J. Sweeney serves as bishop.
