History
In Peru's northwestern Lambayeque region, within the ecclesiastical province of Piura, sits the Roman Catholic Diocese of Chiclayo (Latin: Dioecesis Chiclayensis; Spanish: Diócesis de Chiclayo), a Latin Church diocese whose episcopal see is Cathedral Santa María in the city of Chiclayo. The see holds the distinction of being the former diocese of Pope Leo XIV. Edinson Edgardo Farfán Córdova has been its bishop since 14 February 2024.
What is kept by invitation
The record above is published because it is public: what this see is, when it was erected, who holds its chair, and where it stands among its neighbours.
The working record is not. The chancery's address, telephone and email, the clergy of the see, and the hours of Mass, confession and adoration in the parishes within it are kept for members, and a person reads every request.
