History

A Latin diocese of the Catholic Church in central Italy, the Archdiocese of Pesaro (Latin: Archidioecesis Pisaurensis) saw its see at Pesaro raised to metropolitan archiepiscopal rank in 2000. Two sees answer to it as suffragans: the Diocese of Fano-Fossombrone-Cagli-Pergola and the Archdiocese of Urbino-Urbania-Sant'Angelo in Vado.
