Latin-rite diocese in southeastern Poland, erected 30 June 1818 by Pope Pius VII (bull Ex imposita nobis); renamed Sandomierz-Radom in 1981 and reorganized in 1992 when Radom was split off. It is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Lublin. Its mother church is the Cathedral Basilica of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Sandomierz, with a co-cathedral in Stalowa Wola.

History
Sandomierz, a city in the ecclesiastical province of Lublin in Poland, gives its seat to this Latin diocese of the Catholic Church, known in Latin as Dioecesis Sandomiriensis.
